Pete Scobell: Hello. I'm Lieutenant Pete Scobell, former Navy Seal. Welcome to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Coming up in just a few minutes, I'll be sharing a special announcement about this famous location, where 75 years ago this was the epicenter of the most important event in the history of the United States of America, and in fact, the rest of the modern world.

F. D. Roosevelt: December 7th, 1941, a date which will live in infamy. United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

Narrator: From Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, US Money Reserve presents a special release of the first ever 75th Anniversary Pearl Harbor solid gold coin.

Pete Scobell: Welcome aboard the U.S.S. Missouri, a battleship filled with history, whose very guns helped us to finally end the war. I'm Lieutenant Pete Scobell:, and this is the official release of the first-ever Pearl Harbor 24-carat pure gold coin.

Narrator: Gold prices are on the move, and Americans everywhere are racing to stock up on as many government-issued solid gold coins as they possibly can find, coins like the gold American Eagle, the gold American Buffalo, the gold Canadian Maple Leaf, and even the African gold Krugerrand. Today, the US Money Reserve is proud to announce the recent release of a brand new, solid-gold coin that may soon join the ranks of some of the most historic gold bullion coins in the world. Introducing the all-new Pearl Harbor 24-carat solid gold coin.

Pete Scobell: Pearl Harbor holds a special place in my heart. It's where I was stationed in the Navy for a number of years. As a Navy Seal and the grandson of a World War II veteran, it's an incredible honor to me to be able to present this unique piece of history today. In fact, when I got the call from Philip N. Diehl, the former 35th director of the United States Mint, asking me to help announce the release of the first-ever Pearl Harbor 24-carat pure gold coin, I immediately said yes.

I've often wondered why there hasn't been an official gold coin to celebrate and honor those men and women of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Well, thanks to Mr. Diehl and his company, the US Money Reserve, now there is.

Philip Diehl: I'm honored to be here today to introduce you to the 75th Anniversary Pearl Harbor gold coin. The first ever Pearl Harbor 24-carat gold coin was produced at the famous Perth Mint in Australia. As a former US Mint Director, I can tell you that the Perth Mint is one of the most prestigious mints in the world. The coin bears the famous P mint mark of the Perth Mint, proof that the coin is government minted legal tender. So not only does this beautiful coin represent great historic collector value, it's value is anchored in 24-carat gold as well.

When I was the 35th director of the US Mint, I was responsible for creating some of the most successful coin programs in history. I personally oversaw production of the 75th Anniversary Pearl Harbor 24-carat gold coin, and I believe every American should own one. Gold coins like these are so important to include in your portfolio.

Pete Scobell: As former Mint Director Diehl just explained, the just-released, first-ever, Pearl Harbor 24-carat pure gold coin is important to own. This unique piece of history isn't clad or plated, but 100% pure through and through, and it gives you the added protection of a unique gold coin that could increase in value due to its limited mintage. By the way, it's available through this television offer today at a low introductory price.

There is often additional value based upon the design and detail of a specific coin, and since there has never been a coin line this before, I highly recommend you remember to honor America and protect your family and your future by owning this just-released, first-ever, Pearl Harbor 24-carat pure gold coin.

Sterling Cale: On December the 7th, 1941, I was on duty. As I looked over towards Battleship Row, the planes were diving on the battle wagon. Something is wrong. I saw the rising sun on the fuselage and wing tips. I said, “My God, those are Japanese planes!” The aerial torpedo bombers started coming in, dropping off aerial torpedoes, and they were firing all the way from the main gate to where the U.S.S. Arizona and the Missouri are tied up. The Oklahoma took nine aerial torpedoes, turned over and sank in 12 minutes with 429 men aboard. It just sank down easy into the water. The next day, President Roosevelt declared war on the Japanese.

Pete Scobell: For each just-released, first-ever, Pearl Harbor 24-carat pure gold coin, the President of the US Money Reserve and the former US Mint Director Philip Diehl, has committed to donate funds to help build the statue of the Lone Sailor, here at the Pearl Harbor memorial. If ever there was a need for this statue, this is the place.

Alfred R.: I think it's very important that we have a statue like that. It'd be an honor.

Narrator: A portion of the proceeds from the sale of these Pearl Harbor 75th Anniversary 24-carat solid gold coins, purchased from the US Money Reserve, will help fund the Lone Sailor statue that will be placed here at Pearl Harbor.

Pete Scobell: As a former Navy Seal, the Naval Memorial Foundation is near and dear to my heart. There's not a better way to thank these brave military personnel for their service than to recognize them and share their legacy with young and old. The just-released, first-ever, Pearl Harbor 24-carat pure gold coin does exactly that by helping fund the Lone Sailor statue. With every coin you purchase, you'll know that you've helped make this dream a reality.

Herbert W.: I think it's the most important thing that something like this has come about. It really touches my heart. It brings me to tears.

Narrator: US Money Reserve is one of the largest and most dependable gold distributors in the country, led by former US Mint Director Philip N. Diehl, and the only company in the world authorized to sell this unique coin.

Pete Scobell: As you have already heard, for each just-released, first-ever, Pearl Harbor 24-carat pure gold coin the president of the US Money Reserve and the former US Mint Director Philip Diehl has committed to donate funds to help build the statue of the Lone Sailor here at the Pearl Harbor Memorial. The Lone Sailor was inspired by Rear Admiral William Thompson, the first President and CEO of the Naval Memorial Foundation, which raised the funds to create the Navy Memorial.

Remember, this project is made possible when you pick up the phone and order your just-released, first-ever, Pearl Harbor 24-carat pure gold coins.

Herbert W.: On that Sunday morning, I heard a very loud explosion. I was shocked to see that one ship was just engulfed in flames, and I saw another ship that had been torpedoed. The Japanese had come down and destroyed all our fighter planes. The sky was black, and we lost a lot of lives, a lot of lives. President Roosevelt got out and spoke. Our nation got together. We have never forgotten that. Every year we will hold that particular day as a very important day to us.

Pete Scobell: As you have heard, the coins being offered are made of 24-carat solid gold, and gold like this has been around for ages, and will be in both good times and bad. The United States stores millions of tons of gold, and for good reason. No matter when, how, or where you need it, gold is there protecting your long-term security. Paper money or stocks are often devalued every day, but gold, over the long term, has shown to grow in value. In fact, experts like former US Mint Director Philip N. Diehl think gold prices could double in the near future. Mr. Diehl knows more about gold and gold coins than just about any other person in the world.

Earlier, you saw Mr. Diehl explain the detail that went into the conceptualization, designing, minting, and circulation of the just-released, first-ever, Pearl Harbor 24-carat pure gold coin. He's explained why the coin is such an important part of our nation's history. As a past staff director of the Senate Finance Committee, former Chief of Staff of the US Treasury, former Director of the United States Mint, and now President of the US Money Reserve, here he is again, to answer a very important question. Why gold?

Philip Diehl: Gold has a unique value proposition for people who want to grow and protect their assets. Economies collapse, governments fall, but gold has always been a safe haven for one's wealth. Gold should be part of everyone's financial portfolio. It's wealth insurance in an uncertain world. If you're a pessimist, you want to own more gold. If you're an optimist, you want to hedge your bets in case you're wrong. Whatever your view of the future, there's an important role for gold in your financial plan.

As you begin to plan for these economic events, I believe it is very important to consider gold as insurance on your wealth, for your family's future. Everyone should own gold. I recommend starting with the just-released, first-ever, Pearl Harbor 24-carat gold coin.

Pete Scobell: As you've just heard, there's never been a better time to own physical gold, and what better way to own it than as a gold coin which honors the coming together of so many great nations, ending the most destructive war our world has ever seen. You should call the number on your screen to get these just-released, first-ever, Pearl Harbor 24-carat pure gold coins while they're still available.
We know that World War II touched so many lives. There's nothing we can do about that except honor and remember. That's what you'll do when you pick up the phone and order your gold from the US Money Reserve. I'm honored to have served my country, and I'm honored to hear the stories of the men and women who serve their country today. But 75 years ago, right here in Pearl Harbor, are some of the greatest tales of sacrifice and selflessness as well.

Everett H.: On 7 December 1941 I was a seaman on board the battleship Pennsylvania. When battle stations were sounded, there weren't planes all over the place. Many of us were fighting in tropical shorts, t-shirt, and a tin hat. When a bomb went off, I never even heard it. I was flat on my face. I lost all the skin off my arms, legs, face, chip of bone out of the right leg. I had been shot through the right thigh. I had five pieces of shrapnel in the left leg. I lost part of my left elbow, part of my left bicep. About that time somebody spotted me and said, “Get that man to sickbay.”

Alfred R.: I was there that morning, and I'll never forget it. It was a Sunday. A general alarm sounded and says, “General quarters. This is not a drill. This is not a drill.” We could see the planes up above. We knew it was Japanese. They were flying low enough you could see the pilot's faces. To protect ourselves, we just, I started shooting at the planes.

We have a lot of visitors come today from all over the country that have relatives that are on the Arizona. It's very touching.

Narrator: These exclusive coins are minted in limited numbers, and are being released to the public on a strict first come, first served basis. The reverse side of this unique gold coin illustrates in great detail the U.S.S. Arizona and other ships from the Pacific fleet stationed here on that historic day. The obverse brings together our allies, the United Kingdom of Great Britain, and the Commonwealth of Australia, with an elaborately detailed Perth Mint execution of the elegant profile of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

These coins have enormous historic appeal as a numismatic masterpiece. Vice Admiral John Totushek says, “This beautiful coin represents not only an important inflection point in o unremarkable nation's history, but it is a remembrance of the greatest generation who went on to win the war.”

John F.: The 75th Pearl Harbor Anniversary coin is important because it will cause future generations to remember what happened here. It's a beautiful coin. If future generations even at least ask, “What was this about?” There's a reminder here. Because I know soon, there won't be any eye witnesses. The veterans that served here at Pearl Harbor during that particularly tragic day will be gone.

Everett H.: The coin is really beautiful, and it's nice that somebody thought of something to give us for the 75th.

Herbert W.: This is a tremendous treasure. I think this is one of the best things that has ever been put out for us to remember this by.

Pete Scobell: What started so tragically and led to World War II actually ended close to four years later right here on this spot. On this very spot, on the deck of the U.S.S. Missouri, the instrument of surrender was signed. It was signed by the dignitaries of a dozen countries, which included the USSR, China, Japan, United Kingdom of Great Britain, the Commonwealth of Australia, and of course, the United States of America.

This is an amazing place. It's very moving to be standing on the deck of the U.S.S. Missouri, with the U.S.S. Arizona right behind me, under thousands of tons of water. The bodies of some of our nation's military are still on board these sunken vessels, still lying as they did 75 years ago. As a Navy Seal, I dove on the Arizona and the Utah, and witnessed Pearl Harbor as very few have ever had the chance to do. However, millions of tourists come here every year to pay respect to the thousands of soldiers and civilians who lost their lives on December 7, 1941.
