The Perth Mint

Built in 1899, the Perth Mint was built to refine gold from Western Australia's gold fields to make and distribute British sovereigns. The refinery processes Australia's entire gold mine output, around 300 tonnes annually worth about $15 billion.

The Kangaroo Gold Coin is produced by The Perth Mint in Australia. In 2012, they created the world's largest gold coin! Tag someone who would love a one tonne gold coin!
