The 1933 $20 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle is one of the rarest and most valuable coins in the world. 445,000 Double Eagles were minted with the 1933 date, yet because of monetary changes none were put in circulation. At least 20 of the 1933 Double Eagles were believed to be stolen by a chief cashier, 10 of which came into the possession of Israel Switt.
