A Lone Sailor statue was dedicated at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center on Oct. 13, 2017, coinciding with the Navy’s 242nd birthday. The statue stands watch over the USS Arizona Memorial, which marks the final resting place for many of the ship's 1,177 crewmen who lost their lives on December 7, 1941. With the base constructed with steel from the USS Arizona, this incredible monument calls upon the timeless values of the U.S. Navy: honor, courage and commitment.
