2006-W Mint Mark U.S. Gov't Issued American Eagle Gold Coins

The United States Rare Coin and Bullion Reserve is proud to make available a imited number of one of the most unique Gold Coins we have ever had the pleasure to offer, the Uncirculated 2006 W American Eagle Gold Coin

The 2006 W enjoys the distinction of having the lowest mintage in the 22 year history of the American Eagle Gold Coin program. At an estimate of only 14,000 produced, the mintage of the 2006 W $25 1/2 oz. Gold Coin is approximately half that of the previously lowest minted American Eagle Gold Coin. The 2006 W is also the only regular-issue American Eagle Gold Coin to be officially struck with the Mint Mark of the coin’s production facility. In this case, the "W" Mint Mark indicates minting at the U.S. Mint at West Point, New York, the most guarded and secure Mint Facility in the country. Additionally, the 2006 W is the only American Eagle Gold Coin made using a specialized minting process in which burnished Gold Coin blanks are individually hand-fed into specifically adapted coining presses. The resulting Gold Coins, referred to by the Mint as “Uncirculated,” feature a pristine finish and the same striking design found on other American Eagle Gold Coins.  Our very limited number of 2006 W American Eagle Gold Coins are available in $10 1/4 oz. and $25 1/2 oz. sizes, and their sealed cases are labeled West Point Mint Mark Issue. Most of the Gold Coins in this special release are graded by NGC as a nearly flawless MS-69, but for those of you who require absolute perfection in your collections, our Vault Facility is also carrying a small number of flawless MS-70 2006 W Gold Coins.

When choosing Gov’t Issued Gold Coins that offer the most promising opportunity to increase in value, the correct timing of your purchase can make all the difference. That is why immediate response to our limited offer of 2006 W American Eagle Gold Coins is so important. Since 1986, two of the most sought-after American Eagle Gold Coins have been the 1991 $10 1/4 oz. and $25 1/2 oz. coins. This is because, until the release of the 2006 W, 1991 $10 and $25 coins had the lowest mintage of any Gold Coins in the American Eagle Program. As a result, these Gold Coins have raced up in value as they have quickly disappeared into private collections. At mintages approximately half those of the equivalent 1991 sizes, the $10 and $25 2006 W could be in only the beginning stages of tremendous increases in value. Though the $25 2006 W has an estimated mintage of 14,000, it currently sells for significantly less than the 1991 $25 Gold Coin (mintage of approximately 24,000). In other words, the 2006 W American Eagle is a Gold Coin that may have tremendous upside potential. Though no one, including the United States Rare Coin and Bullion Reserve can guarantee whether a Gold Coin’s future value will go up or down, the new 2006 W American Eagle should be considered an excellent opportunity for the wise collector.
